doing a extrcab chop on an 80 series

Hi guys, i had been in discussion with a fabricator to do a extra cab cut on my 80 but now i looks like that may not be able to happen as they are deciding on a different avenu of work. just wonding if anyone caould let me know of a few place/people to talk to in queensland about getting it done?

yes there is heaps of topics on this but not may in qld and most ppl dont have contact details for who did the cut or they have done it themselves.

do it yourself! im halfway through my xtra cab chop on my gq patrol.. its really not that hard.. if you know how to measure something use an air hack-saw or angle grinder and a welder your 3/4 of the way there.. the hardest part for me was measuring out the rear pillars so the would be near on vertical , but keep the same roof line... first step though talk to an engineer!

i have spoken to dale, but he isnt sure if he can do it due to work commitments..

thanks, im looking thought search results again but still not really finding my people discussing who is doing there cut, seams most people do it them selves.

What about a panel shop I am sure most could do the cut for you with window etc and then organise the tray and interior yourself and wiring yourself.

have spoken to a few and most dont want to touch it, to complicated for them. im happy to do all the paint interior and wiring, just need the cut and eng. cert.

Trinity smash repairs in Cairns does some of the best I have seen, though not shown on the updated website. Just as far away from Brisbane as Melbourne is though.
