Will be giving the rangie a new coat of paint soon and was wondering is newspaper will do or should I buy some proper masking paper?

Depends on how thick you have the newspaper i guess. I aint no pro at spraying cars, but all the touching up work etc I have done I have just used newspaper. If I was to do a whole car, I would fork out for masking paper to be sure.

I swear, the subject line made me think you were gonna tape newspaper over your mouth and nose so you didn't breathe in paint fumes... "mask"... y'know.

Newspaper works well.
Ensure you cover the tine holes made by some printing presses.

Newspaper works fine.
I know a couple of pannel beaters who use it all the time because they are too stingy to pay for masking paper.
BUT... Masking paper on one of those dispensers that auto puts tape along one edge is SO much nicer to use.
Masking a whole car is so much quicker using the propper thing.
But yeah newspaper is fine.

I did work in a panel shop that only used newspaper and like someone else said make sure you cover the press holes

But the paper roller machine is much quicker but for one car the cost is not worth it
if ya gona rev it, Chev it

I've only ever used newspaper. Just make sure you tape it down properly on all sides so that it doesn't start to flap around if caught by the air from the spray gun, and end up with overspray on spots you don't want.
