Identifying Nissan Diffs/Axles
I have Nissan diffs/axles fitted to a non Nissan vehicle and know nothing about Nissan’s - so need help with tech info.
Qu 1: How do I identify what diffs/axles I have?
I want to fit lockers but not sure what model I have so no way of knowing what to order - can of course go to a store but want to be able to think this through myself and repair cvs, brakes etc down the track.
Qu 2: Ideally what centres should be used – 4.1’s?
I want to fit 33 and 35 (maybe larger) tyres for off road work

What gearing is it now - eg gearbox?
What power/torque do u have now?
What Engine?
Auto/Manual?

They are in a landrover/rangie 3.5 supercharged, 4 spd ZF Auto and standard lt230 Disco transfer case (still building so drive line not fitted).
I will take pics of diffs tonight and try to figure out how to post here. I bought diffs fitted but don't know which model they are from.

Damo is great for CV's and provides a good service.
GU should have a flat on the CV bell and GQ will not.
Photo's of the swivel hub will identify the front. The rear where the wheel bearing housing bolts on to the axle tube, if its a 10mm flange on axle tube its gq, if its a 30mm thick flange its gu.
If the front and rear centres are the same size it will have a h233 rear centre, if the rear is bigger and has square looking axle tubes it is a h260.

Nissan Patrol GQ diffs. As for ratios they could be anything 3.9,4.1,4.3 or 4.6 which are the most common around. The only way to find out what ratios are in them is to pull them out and check the numbers on the crown wheels and divide them.
