aquaphobic 80 series cruiser
hey iv got a query i told my mate i ask the outers oracle about. he has just bought an 80 series cruiser wagon. it passed its roadworthy no worries. everytime he drives it into water be it bonnet level or just enough to splash the car a little it starts to spludder and cough and sometimes it evens stops on him and wont start for a bit. we cant figure out wat the problem is cause theres no water in the air filter and we know that water isnt getting into the petrol tank cause weve checked it for holes and the fule pump hole is sealed realy well.
any ideas?
cheers. tim

4x4 tool kit: Duct tape and a BFH . If it moves and it shouldn't, use the tape, if it doesn't move and it should, use the hammer.

could i make a simple sudjestion ive used to find a short i had ...
with the car running in the driveway bonnet up go around the front slowly with a squirty bottle set on stream not spray and slowly work around it until you find the area that causes it to stop or play up ...
i did this after months of problems with an ingition short endedd up being a bare wire in the loom that just happened to be the coil tacho wire when shorted it killed the engine
using a hose is to random with the squrty bottle at least it a small area at a time

at the rear of the dizzy there is a hole... the water runs down the back of the dizzy and straight into the hole and then into the dizzy.... they dont like it.. also there is a hole at the bottom that needs sealing up...
I put a breather on mine and it made it shitloads better... and the beauty of it is, if it does get water in its giny, then u can spray CRC down the breather and it clears up straight away.
this is the breather hose i put in mine.. bit hard to see but u get the idea
