Was going to change out the hard 2" lifted TJM coils and shocks the previous owner had in my GU ute and recently watched the 4x4 Action DVD "Patrol Vs Cruiser" shootout.
The Troll had 4" coils and 1" coil spacers with 5" shocks all round... Can anybody give me a hint as to why you wouldnt just put in 5" coils too??
What sort of advantages / disadvantages will this have??
I was gunna try 2" Coils and a 1" spacer with 3" shocks for a mild lift.

His springs may have sagged and needed to have spacers to stop them falling out (unseating).I use spacers as a way of extending spring life when they sag a bit, start with spring only at the height you want and when they sag down install spacer to extend spring life.

I've found that the coil noise comes from them rubbing a bit on the coil seats (unless thats where the spacers are being put?) not the hats as they have rubber insulators on top anyway.ludacris wrote:Some coil manufacturers dont do a 5" coil so a 4" coil and 1" coil spacer is the go. The benifits of using coil spacers is road and coil noise is reduced.
