Cleaning A GQ LSD

Post by johno »

Can you drain the diff oil and replace with magic shit ( tech term ) that will flush & clean the internals & then drain and re fill with oil ?

Notice the old girl is giving a bit of a juddering/slipping effect when in low gear or reverse and in 2wd. Had similar in another truck & the diff mob pulled the diff strpped & cleaned it. Fixed the problem, just trying save dollars

thanks

ive heard people drain out some oil and top it up with engine flush , then go for a drive in an empty carpark and do some figure 8s , or just drive around for a week or so then drain it out

drain it, fill it with diesel, go 100metres forwards and then drive the 100metres backwards then drain and fill with oil

I used some engine flush and went to a car park and drove in figure 8's. Drained it really well and used penrite lsd oil.
Still works great and that was 100,000km ago
