I haven't compared but I went with the NA so there's less to go wrong out bush.... or theres more chance I can fix it with my limited skills.

Not as fast as the turbo, but it doesn't really bother me.

If you are looking at buying one definatel buy a factory 3.0LTD (1KZTE motor) they go great... nothing like the old 2.8 or 3.0L N/A... I have the latest (2004) 3.0L NA (fuel injected) motor in mine and haave turbo'd it...

Difference is (correct me if i'm wrong)
2.8L around 35 rear wheel KW (motor 3L)
3.0L around 40-45 RWKW (motor 5L or 5Le)
3.0L TD (factory) 80-85 RWKW (motor 1KZTE)

Mine is the 5Le motor with 13-15 pound of boost makes 85 RWKW on 32's

Brad

sorry bout the hijack mate but hey brad 93hilux if yours is a 5le motor how did you turbo it with the efi on the injector pump.

mate of mine has the 5le and i was told you cant turbo it cause you cant wind the fuel pump up and it will run lean on boost.ive started a thread on here toyota section so please reply there if itsw important.thanks.

You need to install a chip so you can wind up the fuel. I know DP chip will work with a 5le and aftermarket turbo.

Diesel's always run lean. even when you see that pretty black smoke out the exhaust, your Diesel motor's still fueling lean of stoichiometric. Bolt the turbo on and tune it later, it won't matter, you just won't be making any more horsepower.

Cheers,

Thats not bad, im running an un-chipped 1KZ-TE engine in mine with a 3" exhaust and making 70 rwKW, but thats with about 300nm of torque too, which is where the Factory motor comes on song
