WOW wot an awesome weekend
left home 4.30 friday morning and returning home at 8.45 sunday night.

Congrats to Dan for his brillient driving and Ben for the massive effort he put in as the navi. Its great to c that a low budget truck like Dan's Vit with no rear steer and no hydro coilovers etc can take out an event like Tuff Truck. Getting 100 points on all stages but the mud plus majority of the bonus lines goes to show not only the quality of the vehicle but how valuable the driver navi combination is.

There were to many great drives over the weekend to mention, Heartbreak Ridge seem to b the one claiming the most victoms, with only Team Avanti and Team Pirate taking the 100 points there.

One thing i was a little disappointed in was the abuse being yelled at drivers if they called there runs early due to mechanical failure One example is Mark (Bandage Bear) on Heartbreak Ridge (Redneck Ridge). he had just torn off a portal hub getting to around the 70 point mark and instead of giving him a cheer for getting $100k+ rig to that point and snapping a custom portal (guessing $15k) he pretty much got boo'd off the stage by a bunch of slack jawed yokals sitting at the top. I guess some ppl will never relise how much time effort and $'s go into these truks for the owners to go out there and trash for the spectators enjoyment.

All in all i think everyone had a top weekend with only a minor scuffle at the mud on friday night.
Well done Pete and all the volunteer's that put in a huge effort to make it such a great weekend.

Will deffinatly b attanding again next year

Cheers

It was a vast improvement over previous TTs with crowd behaviour and general amosphere.

Pete and his team did a great job!!!!!! Hope it can only get bigger and better!!!

Some awesome drives!!

Wayno and Shane never giving up after rolling and all but finishing 1 of the stages.

Mal and Nick were very smooth and controlled all weekend. Very unlucky on the last stage.

The quailty of cars and driving was alot higher than previous years.

Team Pirate!!! Awesome job.

P.S it wasn't Mark breaking Bandaged Bear, It was the navi who stepped in after Mark couldn't drive!!
As Ant was getting in to drive, Marks only instruction was don't drive it like you drive yours!!!
Ant was the pilot of spiderman truck last year   Only got a small amount of air on the frame twister  last year

what an awsome weekend, on a note about the roll over that bandaged bear had, after mark rolled his zook i saw him go down and speak to the next competitor which was team tuff turtle and told them where he went wrong and gave them advice on how to attack that same corner which claimed his rig and ended his weekend, i have to say that was great sportsmanship on his part and one thing i thought was awsome.Congratulations to the top 3 teams was well deserved.

There were a lot of teams helping each other out, as mentioned by DRS earlier.

It was awesome to see, but not suprising.

Why?

Its good to see variety in the field! not too mention a standard truck competing i understand it has some minor modifications but most of these mods are not preformance based.

If you don't like the Unimogs don't watch them there are 38 other trucks.

But the most important part is... Team Powerful 4x4 were amazing to watch! he really gave the crowd something to cheer about on all tracks! and i was surprised after talking to one of the pit crew to find out very little damage was actually done other then snapping his track rod a few times.

And its great to see someone like Dan who puts all his effort and money into this sport to come out with the win!

Just got home the car can stay on the truck tonight as we left 5.30 nsw time and got home 8.00qld time, Im a little shagged. Like every one else has said congrates to pirate, even thoe I didn't see one of your runs.
I headed down there not knowing what too expect as the closest I have come to tuff truck before is watching it on dvd.
Pete, tony and steve you blokes did a great job making all us newcomers welcome.
As for my rig it had a good weekend with no real breakages, After getting all my bad luck out of the way in the glen dobbin night run on friday it was all good, only scoring a 35 out of a possible 150 isnt a good start. So I played catch up all weekend Hence the end of heart break, all for 20 points but it all payed off sneaking back into third.
Cheers Rhett
