I was around the gate most of the weekend and know most of the people who did the running and I didn't see any of that. The only thing I saw was plenty of people who wanted to pay the pre-paid price at the gate (one bloke even turned around and headed back to sydney).

1) Security are permanently in 4 locations that ARE accessible by spectators.. Front Gate, Ranch Gate, competitors compound at the road end after 6pm. & at the security site shed. All that would have been needed is to go to one of these locations, & ask for assistance. 2) Having them run out, gets them away from the crowd faster than seeing them struggle & be restrained by security., & police captured both people on the 2 occasions very swiftly. ( great job )

4) Ticket prices were pre-set. Friday $30, Sat $60, Sun $40. she would have been coming in for 2 days.. weather you come in at 10am or 6 pm for a weeked pass. its the same price for that day. There possibly may have been a mix up with some of my staff, but all in all it worked out ok, with minimal problems.

Thanks to Pete and all of his team for putting on what we felt was the best Tuff Truck yet. From our point of view, everything ran smoothly, with minimal hold ups. Congrats Dan, Mal and Rhett. To drive those tracks clean was a huge effort. Well done.

Team Bright Sparks had a great but eventfull weekend, we managed to break most of our drivetrain and ended up doing repairs after every track

For everyones information, team Powerful 4x4 entered the competition to show everyone you can enter a rig into Australia's biggest 4x4 challenge without the $150,000 price tag plus have a awesome fun weekend. With only 6 weeks handed to the team and jsut $15,000 to build the car - the boys did extremly well to GET the rig running and compete in each event. True aussie battler spirit was shown by the team.
The boys driving the rig, were approached many times by the crowd to give them a little excitment - they knew they had no chance to beat the likes of Team Pirate....
In regards to the mic showouts, Powerful 4x4 were a major sponsor of the event. Powerful 4x4 committed quite alot of money to the event. Each and every sponsor got given the same opportunity as Powerful, but didnt take on the opportunity. For example some sponsors didnt even show up!

There are better ways to "Give a Little Excitment" rather than just be silly & breaking the car.. that kinda thing makes the day run slow not just for the team involved but with others that were helping too.
In my oppinion you should probably thank the guys that helped to get the car back on the track rather than the driver or navi.

I devirginised my self on the weekend and hit the Tuff Truck scene for the first time..
I have to say i was suprised, it was bigger than i thought, the organisation was professional but the competition was not. I was somewhat disappointed at the build quality and level of vehicle there. Now don't get me wrong, i know there are a lot of budget racers and i'm not having a go at any of them but rather the fact that a lot of the competitors have spent good coin on there or done alot of work themselves only to end up with a poorly set up vehicle.
There were a few teams who were constantly attatching straps and pulling on the car to avoid damage and/or rollovers... WTF!.. Some of these cars had good components just not fitted right, four links with rear arms that would converge 20 feet behind the car.. roll centres at about the cyliinder head height etc etc...
There's not too many guys that actually know how to use rear steer to there advantage, most seem to think it's there only to steer the rear wheels with no regards to the physics of the action..
Navi's that steered cars directly into rocks on the diff pumpkin when there were other options etc.
Maybe i expected too much, but alot of the competitors appeared more amature than i thought they would be.
As for powerful, like it or lump it they were the best showmen there and used the crowd to there advantage.. That's good business, good marketing, and money well spent by there sponsors. Sponsorship is a business, not a token gesture. If you want sponsorship ask yourself what you can give your sponsor. Do you think they care for 1st place when someone else who's a better showman steals the lime light?
Well done to Pete and his crew. The security and police presence was nearly perfect. Not too overbearing but they were every where all the time. I'd consider my entry fee money well spent.
Would i go again.. You betcha! i have a big block on forty nines to smash on the B'double with another for trucks... Lime light here i come!

And i believe that i was pleasing the crowd and doing my sponsors proud by the tracks i attempted and in the manner that i attempted them.
The comments by the crowd watching were more along the lines of the driver & navi being "idiots" was a term that i heard quote regulary, especially after the performance that was put on at the mud and on the Devils marbles. There are better ways to "Give a Little Excitment" rather than just be silly & breaking the car.. that kinda thing makes the day run slow not just for the team involved but with others that were helping too.
In my oppinion you should probably thank the guys that helped to get the car back on the track rather than the driver or navi.
For all those having a go at the Powerfull 4x4 team for going and driving the sh&t out of there car WHY dont you compete next year..... thats what I thought
They went there saying they were going to put a show on for the crowd and you know what they did. They know like most competitors they wont win but are doing it for fun and to compete against mates.
That is what tuff trucks is all about, driving the hardest tracks hard for all watching
