looking for Toyota LSD info

Gday looking for some info for LSD for a 76 series truck.
can any one tell my if you can do anything to the diff,as mine dos not seam to engage, i had my ass kicked by a 30L nissan patrol with front ratchet lockers.
i have all the power i need but it means squat if the LSD dos not engage.
can any one give me some ideas, with out buying a locker.

Give up the dream of having a toyota lsd that works cause they just dont sorry buddy and im a toyota man

yeah but you would think they would have done something to fix it i use to drive a GU 4.2 but went over to Toyota, when i took it for a test drive the car sales man showed me that the LSD works all wright. this was on the Toyota 4x4xmore track in Brisbane.

Even if your LSD is working as it was designed, it will still not works as good as your mates Lockers....

1 locker is still better then 2 lsd's IMOP...


The other thing is Nissan LSD's are better designed and in general work better.. Your toyo lsd can be reshimmed, but i guarantee you still will not be happy (plus the lsd will just wear out after a while)

if you want a lsd get a detroit tru trac. they're gear driven so they shouldnt ever loosen. i got one in the rear, its been in mine for a yr and half and is still tight, they just seem to let go real easy when a wheel juuussst comes off the ground.... my diff gears were rooted so it cost me nearly 1600 including the tru trac. id go a locker anyday!!
87 hilux,2.8,garret turbo,tru trac rear,gauge,3" lift fnt,2" lift rear.
94 hilux,2.8,denco turbo kit,14psi,racing seats,comp bar & tray,air locker fnt,tru trac rear,sliders,2" lift,33's.

haha your toyota lsd or any lsd will never be better than a locker doesnt matter if its a 3.0l patrol or a sierra if its got a locker itll beat your lsd

No tru trak available for the larger toyota diffs, I've tried and failed with that one. Smaller hilux, bundera and small front diff cruisers (later models) are available.
