3RZ Issues

Post by Weiner »

Hi guys,

Tried bolting the gearbox up to the motor this morning, but came into a bit of a problem.

The bellhousing is out of a 2wd lux, and the engine is out of a 2000 or so 2wd.

Don't know what is going on here., it lines up, just the bottom half will be exposed

you are missing the lower gearbox mounts that bolt to the block by the looks of it, and the lower section of coverplate.

Where would I get the coverplate from? and is that the actual name for it?

try the wreckers you got the engine from maybe? Or the wreckers the bellhousing came from.
Im unsure if that is its correct name, what Iv called it and the wreckers have understood what I was on about.

On another note when I put my last engine in, i did not have the lower mounts or the cover so i dont have it on their lol. I am sure I am not doing my clutch any favours!

I was talking to the brother today and this is what he said. I will ring around Tuesday and see.

Do you know if the lower mounts are the same as a 3L, think I still have them lying round

Cheers mate

Do any of you guys know what thread/pitch/length the bellhousing to engine bolts are? Also the 2 for the starter motor?

And are there 2 separate belts for the alt/ps and if so, is there a second pulley that goes on where the clutch fan goes?

Cheers.

they have diff harmonic balancers depending on what options the hilux had, if it didnt have AC, it doesnt have the pully for it(shithouse option lol) but yeah ull have to find a harmonic balancer with the 3 belt spacings. as for the bolts, i used the same bolts my 22r had, and have used the same bolts from a 3L diesel on a mates

Not sure where the bolts from the 3L are.

Nah no A/C.

Will have to find out about a harmonic balancer tomorrow, thanks again.

Bolts are M12, not sure of length.

Here's a blurry pic of the front of my 3rz. No air con:

Do you know what pitch?

Sweet, so it just looks like a extra pulley on the crank?
