Not impressed by the cap? Or the entire conversion.
As you're selling up, I take it you've realised the shortcomings of the GTI engine in a sierra.
Share your experiences with it in case anyone is thinking of doing the same.

Angle drive dizzy only works with mk1 not 2 or 3

use the sierra box with the kit so much easier other wise you have to stretch the tunnel in the car to fit the box in. and remember to swap the sump over lol

They are only shit if your gearing doesnt compliment the motor.

Ive done this conversion and am in the process of doing it again.

I have 6.5 in the transfer and 5.12 diffs.

A GTi motor has more torque than a stock carby sierra motor everywhere so I fail to see how they can be crap. And as said it's all in the gearing, I run 31" simex extreme trekkers on the street and offroad with 6.5 transfer gears and is quicker than most fourbies on road and off it.

I would have to agree with the gearing angle. I initially put my mk3 gti in N/A with 30's and stock drivetrain. It was a lot better on and off road compared to the carby donk and I found it more relaible. Now Ive got 4.16 gears, rear lockright and turbo'd it and its pulled stock standard XR6 turbo times on the quarter mile. It eats anythings its been against in the sand (i dont get much mud/water/rock exposure). I could see where having more low down torque would be a bonus for tight tracks and rocks, but again this can be achieved by gearing. The flip side being I dont know the cost/complexity comparison with a 1.6 install.
