no engine conversion will be "easy"
common ones at the moment are:
3RZ good results using factory parts good economy and power.
Commo V6 good power economy not so good conversion kits = $$$$
V8 toyota / Lexus good power excellent motor conversion kits = $$$$
Holden V8 good common conversion cheapish motors lots of go fast bits
other motors like 1G etc have been done and the motors can be had quite cheap from importers etc.

i really wanted to do the 1g but the dirtbag decided to give it to he's brother in law.so angry.
i just looked at 1and 2j's and 1g's and they seem like a good price for motor and box($1100)
does anyone know how much the transfer adapter is?
apparently the 1g also bolts up to hilux engine mounts so really only need to do the wiring.
how does the power steering adapt to the lux power steer box though?
thanks

Fixed for you, all those years of hard drugs taught me one thing.......hi_luxmad wrote:maybe you should convert to not being on drugs?Struth wrote:Converting to Christianity would probably be easier for you to do than converting a Hi Lux engine configuration.
I nearly converted last week but the mormon I had lined up fell through

There you go, aside from the silly BS you wrote that looks a little more like a man wrote it now, not some dumb punk kid.hi_luxmad wrote:I'm not real keen on the commo v6 because of the fuel factor.hiluxmad wrote:no engine conversion will be "easy"

Yeh I guess, he did become the forums biggest seller of highly modified and sucessful 4WDs pretty quickly too and he has his fingers in so many pies that I lost count, all this since changing username and dumping his last lot of dickhead mates too.macca81 wrote:give the kid a break struth, he has been pretty good since he stopped having all those buttfests with his teal slacks...
he is trying... very trying
Pretty impressive turnaround really
unlike everyone who has done conversions and come up with the 3rz as easiest conversion, u must kno something that no one else knows, oh and if u go 7m buy a few spare heads and head gaskets lolhi_luxmad wrote:im just trying to contribute mate im not trying to start a fight.
All i want to know is what is the easiest engine conversion for a hilux and ive come to the conclusion that its a 5,6 or 7M motor.
i will be buying a cresida hopefully in the next few days so i might put a guide to doing the swap up.

Would you mind explaining how you came to that conclusion?hi_luxmad wrote: All i want to know is what is the easiest engine conversion for a hilux and ive come to the conclusion that its a 5,6 or 7M motor.
Perhaps a list of possible engine swaps (that you have considered) in order of ease so we can see what you're comparing it with?
You haven't got a fight with me, I have until this thread resisted the urge to shit talk to you, but you have so many shit talking threads going on at once that even my patience with your sort was worn thin. I will not contribute to any other threads you start, so feel free to bullshit on as much as you like.hi_luxmad wrote:im just trying to contribute mate im not trying to start a fight.

To the others I apologise for bringing this crap out of GC and into Tech but there is only so much bull shit a man can take
i was comparing it to the commodore v6 conversion,1uz,holden v8.RAY185 wrote:Would you mind explaining how you came to that conclusion?hi_luxmad wrote: All i want to know is what is the easiest engine conversion for a hilux and ive come to the conclusion that its a 5,6 or 7M motor.

i think its the easiest because the engine mounts from the 5m bolt straight on and you can buy these from any auto parts store.
apparently the bellhousing fits the g52 box if you drill 1 hole.
i will be keeping the auto box behind the 7m as i think its stronger than the g52.
all i need to purchase really is the adapter from gearbox to transfer case.
STRUTH-
what bullshit have i said in here that offended you so much?

The basic premise you put forward that suggests you have any real world knowledge of what you speak about coupled with the suggestion you make that you will actually do anything to a 4WD that is beneficial to that 4WD
I know what you're trying to say, but your sentence just does not read right...Struth wrote:hi_luxmad wrote: STRUTH-

You crap on as though you know what you are talking about and I seriuosly doubt you have the ability to do any useful modifications to a 4WD
that reads much better, and with the meaning i had suspected!Struth wrote:Is that simple enough for you nowmacca81 wrote:I know what you're trying to say, but your sentence just does not read right...Struth wrote:hi_luxmad wrote: STRUTH-
