Just got back from the run.

F#*king great. :finger: I don't think I did so bad for my first run. No panel damage. At worst I need a new clutch maybe. Got to learn to take my foot off it.

Good one Wes and Niel and Thor for being my Navie.

Yeah, thanks guys we had a good night while we were there.

Thought I was gonna make it up Ruff's checkpoint for a second there, but couldn't quite do it. We called it a night after that checkpoint as we thought a CV/hub might've gone but seems to be OK. Got a bit of minor rear quarter panel damage in between checkpoints while not paying close attention

Any news on results/carnage?

Just got some results back.

1st place- Rod and Julie Reardon- Yellow Zook.
2nd Place- Shane Sheridon and Son - White 75 series Tray back.
3rd Place- Peter Crank -Silver Rangie.

Now there was a little confusion at the sign on and jimmy B Didnt actually join as a member which has put him out of Second place. Russel Jones should be contacting you soon James.

Also if the guys in the silver Range Rover had answered all the Questions and located all the boards they would have had 1st place.

I was on Check point 4 and had 7 of the 11 entred vehicles attempt it.(we had a few pull out early due to breakages) There were 3 options here 10points,30 points and 50 points,

2 rigs took the 10 point line and drove it with a little throttle and Chris Irsel bent a rim and poped a bead And Basket case drove it with no probs.

2 rigs took the 30 point line which i thought was going to be a lot easier than it proved to be. Shane Sheridon was the first and found it was a very tight fit and after a few realy good attempts and nearly getting there tried to re-aligne and got hung up on a huge rock and had no choice but to winch out. Next was Peter Crank in the silver Rangie who gave it a good go the first attemt but then found it was going to take a few more before he actually drove it with a little throttle.

3 rigs thought that if i could drive a "stock" hilux up the 50 point line they should have no trouble  Rod Reardon and Julie were first and they were about to give up and go back for the 30 when Rod tried one more line and nearly got it but blew a Longfield CV in the right front. Then the guys in the Silver and Black? GQ (uqunder10s) Gave it a go and after a lot of work by the navigator and multiple attempts gave up and opted for the 30 point line only ending up having to winch out after a suspected broken CV. Then James(jimmy b) gave the 50 point line a go in his Jeep Cherokee but after not much help from his Navigator(she mainly just heckled him for driving a jeep :D ) and a lot of attempts got to the point where he could not re-aligne due to a tree behind him and had to be recovered by a HILUX :finger: (must be one of those Jeep things :D )

I must say it was a great checkpoint and all the rigs that attempted it were more than prepaired and i hope you all enjoyed your night and hope to see you again in the future.

PS; That "stock" hilux drove the 50 point again after it recovered the Cherokee

Also at the time that the uqunder10s GQ got to my check point they were ahead on points for driving checkpoints. So if you guys had finished and got all the questions and boards you could have also won this.

I beleive in the end it was all very close in points for the checkpoints but to win you must do the questions and boards as well.

I'm kicking myself a bit about not finishing but when we thought we'd blown a CV we figured we would struggle to beat Rod, Jimmyb & the Rangie crew especially as we skipped half of CP1 'cos we thought the wagon would struggle to fit past the rock wall. We didn't have a spare long CV so didn't want it to lock up while out there - plus my navvy had been up since 3am for a triathlon training session at Mooloolaba at 5am so he was pretty knackered. oh well, maybe next time.

It started off in Beenleigh, went through some bush there and then went into a Natioanal park near beaudesert and then ended up in the same area as the november night run near logan village.

Um Close. But no where near Beaudesert :)

Steve The first and second checkpoints were behind the Beenleigh Dump. One of these was a new track never used before. Then went allong the "Goat Track" where the 3rd Checkpoint was located. Then continued on to the now empty Logan Pine Forest for Checkpoints 4,5 and 6. I was one of the last to leave checkpoint 6 at around 1AM.

I don't think the next run has been finalised. I keep a watch on this site to see what happens.

I swear I saw any entry to a park through Beaudesert.
