control arm and shaft :(

Post by Daisy »

Prolbems with the GQ.

Last year, upgraded to 3 inch springs and so called shocks (found out that i only had 2 inch outward travel)

Fitted sub fuel tank in. No probs

Decided to go bigger. a hd 4 inch kit found its way into my garage
Decided to prop up the GQ as far as i could with my trolley jack until the springs fell out.. apparently they didnt.. they stil were firm, the control arm was resting on my fuel tank :bad-words:

So.. fuel tank has to go.. upon lookin at fuel tank setup.. i saw the shaft was resting against the laddder bar :bad-words:

So..... the fuel tanks going to find its way out of the GQ into the FS section soon. And does anyone have any idea on what to do with the shaft?

I have included a few pics for what everyone can suggest / drum up ideas on what i can do.

Right now im thinking ill get someone to cut it out and relocate it closer to the transmission.

What ya think fellas???

flip the driveshaft front to rear, ie with slip spline mounted to the transfer case end as opposed to the diff, or notch the crossmember and weld in some flat plate.

Flip the tailshaft and get the tank knotched by a tank builder. We do this every week. :D
NOW ABLE TOO SAY WHAT I WANT WITHOUT FEAR OF LOOSING SALES.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
