What size rim for 35x12.5x15 tyre?
I purchased some new tyres today (maxxis big hornss)
Now i need to buy some new rims now. Now should i get a 15x8 or 15x8.5 or 15x9? i also want to get it at the landcruiser offset just to make sure this is -22?? is that correct?
thanks steve

I think 9.5 is the ideal width, but most run 8" and there's really no problem with 8's
9.5 (can you even get a 9.5?) will add quite a lot of width and makes the car look a lot more radical, not always desirable.
Steve.

I've ran 35x12.5-15r 's on 10in rims for the past 6 years as well with out to many problems . I've found that they handle great and you dont get any were near the sidwall flex on the road with 10's .
but have found that the overall track can sometime be an issue in deep ruts ( your wider that they are !).
if you can get 9's it would be probably be and good compromise .

I totaly agree. I ran 35x12.5 for years with no problems on 8s. I then went to 10s and have had no end of trouble with shit getting in the beads, causing slow leaks. Plus I have had trouble with poping the beads a couple of times with tens. THis is dropping to the same pressures with both, and on the same tracks with both. I am back on 8s now.mike_nofx wrote:There would be a lot less chance of losing the bead with 8" rims.
I don't really see the advantage of going 10" wide.
Yes tens look better, although I reckon it makes the tires themselves look worse, (to balloony, lol) for me, Personal preference. The other problem I encountered putting the tens on is that it created a much heavyer steering because it increased the steering radius.
When i got my bighorn 35x12.5's, i read up a bit and most places recommend to mount them on a 10'' rim to make the tire crown less and wear more evenly on the road.
Even on my 10'' rim mine still wear more in the centre and i usually run the recommended pressure of 35psi...

just because it is a recommended pressure doesnt mean it's the right pressure for you truck weight etc etc play a big part my 33s i run around 32psi and wear nice and flat across the tread area (tyres are maxxis bravos 33x12.5x15 on 15x8 rims, on a GQ wagon with a few mods)4RUNNER_01 wrote:When i got my bighorn 35x12.5's, i read up a bit and most places recommend to mount them on a 10'' rim to make the tire crown less and wear more evenly on the road.

Interesting note i noticed on my swampers was the 33x12.5 the tyre reccommended 15x10s (on the actually wall of tyre) then I bought some 36x12.5x15s and they recommended a 15x8 on the wall of the tyre!!!!!!
Either way I have always ran 15x8s with no debeads!
