God of Magnificant Ideas!
diesel engines use the same "basic principles" as petrol engines when it comes to adding performance be it either economy or power
head work will improve power and economy ...
better flowing exhaust will improve power and economy ...
the trade off is generaly along these lines...... now we have more power and economy we drive it a tad harder and that shoots the economy side to hell.
if its a turbo motor then the muffler isnt really required, the turbo does most of the muffling down any way !, look into a 3" system and a virtually straight through muffler, by letting it "breathe" you'll add economy and increase power..... remember the trade off tho
