Iwan, she sure looks good now mate, great job and well done, but you've got a big grin on your face, thats hard to remove Eh when your out and about posing in your new toy LOL.
Bye the way, regarding that petrol filter, have you got a largish one under the nearside rear seat, attached to the chassis, just anout in line with rear nearside road wheel, thats where my one is Iwan its about 3 1/2 inches in diameter, anyhow has I was going to say to you about the rust particales, on my GDI inside the filler tube on the petrol tank there is a anti syphon disc about half way down the filler tube, has the MK1 got this, if so, then because of this disk and spring, they tend to rust and over a period of time, if you dont change the filter often enough the rust particles find there way up to the micro filters in the throttle body and create hell with the running and tick over and it is a real pain, till you remove and change these micro filters, just thought I would let you know, Ok see you and enjoy. i already ask my mech to order a large fuel filter and a brand new fuel pump. just waiting for his call to bring the paj in.
the truth is, during grinding the axle mount bit leftovers, i accidentally cut the brake line on the axle. anyway, those are steel braided lines. i have them in my other car and also the wife's. they work great so far.J Top wrote:If you find the brake pedal a bit soft Iwan, you may find the flex hoses are stretching under brake pressure. That is some great youtube videos. Watched a bunch of them. FLorida sucks it all flat and nothing but mud holes.
