Rear reverse light

Post by DigitalStillPhotos »

So, I want to wire up a reverse spotlight on the back of my car, going to mount it to my roof cage so i can use it when reversing in the scrub at night and setting up camp..

What is the best way? I figure I want it setup so its on a 3 way switch... on so it can be used without the car running, on when the reverse lights come on and off so nothing works and its just a dead light, figured that would be the most legal way of doing it... but i'am looking on tips on how to do it properly and what I will need to do it all

Appreciate any help

I dont think you're allowed to have a rear-ward facing light that can be switched from the dash. Best having a switch at the back of the cab that operates the relay, as well as connected to the reverse switch in parallel.

I have two small spotties hooked up to my reverse switch, then a little 24V fluoro in the cab that can be turned on separately.
