Hello datto peoples :D , I'm wiring an LS1 and 4L60E into an ex RD28 GU and am after some wiring diagrams, in particular, the only things I require, is the tacho input, the starter relay, so I can wire in the park/neutral switch, reverse light switch, everything else is easily located

there is no start relay in a patrol, will have to add your own. Tacho input i just trace it on the circuit board on the back of the cluster, reverse just trace it back along the original gearbox loom.

Righto, sorted, only Q is, what are you doing for the Tacho Steve? dragging the tacho signal form the ECU and then some kind of signal altering box, or getting the cluster modded?

You can just use the tacho signal from the ECU.
With EFIlive or similar software, you are able to adjust the ECU tacho output signal to fit your tacho.

Shit hot, thanks :armsup: , I knew you could alter speed output, but every other LS1 I've fitted has had either a custom or aftermarket calibratable tacho, I'll splice it in the loom when I head back there to tidy up starter, temp etc once the headers are fitted

Have you ever fitted a oil cooler to a LS1?
Do you use a sandwich plate for it?

And where do you fit your water temp, oil temp and oil pressure sensor?
The only spot i have found for the water temp sensor is in the driver side head.

Never fitted a cooler, water temp in the plug in the drivers side head and oil pressure in the little dooodad thingy, held on by 2 bolts, just avove the oil filter, some of the humpy things come with an undrilled boss as oppossed to just the hump

You electric work looks very nice.
Is there any problem by using a glow plug relais from a Defender (80A/12V) insteed the three 30A relais for the EFI?

After doing heaps of clamp tests, (oh I do like my Kyoritsu mini ammeter), I just hook all the EFI stuff on the one 40A relay, the current draw is very minimal and it simplifies the crap out of the loom, put it in perspective, its protected with a 10A fuse ;) , I fit the 4 relays, one for the EFI, fuel pump and 2 fans, with 6 fuses, for the previous four and an unswitched ign supply and batt volts, this leaves a stand alone loom, so all that comes from the car, is an ign feed, a big batt feed, diagnostics plug and tacho/speedo outputs, very simple, gauges feed direct form the car loom, oh and A/C if required, as its in the loom and will tell the ECU when to idle up
