Hey folks, leaving for the Cape tomorrow and since I've added a 3rd battery into my storage unit in the back the Jerry cans no longer fit where they used too. The only place I can fit them in the back of the hilux is the main storage area and I don't really want them there.
I've seen Jerry can holders available to fit various roof baskets so obviously people do it but I also don't want them standing up! If I were to lay them down on their side am I likely to run into any problems? By on there side I mean on the largest face of the Jerry. I think there is some sort of breather in the cap to allow for expansion so logic suggests it would be wise to have the cap at the top.... Perhaps if they were stored laying down but on the smaller side if you get me.
Hard to describe but i'd say someone will know what im jibbering about!
Cheers!

OIIIO --- JEEP --- Buy it, wheel it, break it, ebay it, fix it, wheel it --- Its a Jeep thing , You'll understand.
That is so obvious that I didn't even think of it! I'll have no use for it probably for the first week at least of our holidays but yet it's already filled and strapped to the roof I'll pour it in when we stop tomorrow night and won't bother filling her up until we hit the bush.JWB wrote:And transfer them to the main tank ASAP.!
And if you don't really need them, don't fill them!
