would a petrol 60 series gear box fit a 12ht motor???

if you use the petrol clutch disk, then it should (might need a 2h bellhousing and pressure plate, if all 12ht's are auto)

ive heard 2h manual boxes bolt straight up but can get a petrol one cheap.. so the petrol gear box will bolt up

i have a 82 2h 60 series and got a spare 84 petrol as spares,the petrol 5 speed/transfer bolted straight onto the 2h bellhousing but i also needed the 5 speed tailshaft.

The gearboxes are the same, but the clutches are different. Don't use a petrol clutch plate on a diesel. Use a diesel clutch.

the petrol and diesel one i compared had different spline count on the input shaft, so needed the petrol clutch disk in the diesel pressure plate to work. ymmv
