Allied Beadlocks?
Allied have started making beadlocks. Has anyone priced a set?

I got a quote fom a local tire shop and came in at 390 each, might as well buy brand new pro comps, bead locks and pay someone to weld them on and still come out in front. The bloke at the tire shop also said that the allied ones still arent road legal which i personally think would be the only reason you would look at them

I ordered a set of the "Lockjaw" fakelocks off Allied through my local dealer in January - still haven't got them yet. Supposed to be arriving in about 2 more weeks but I'll wait & see. Costing about $167.00 each rim.
The delay has apparently been caused by the ring that gets welded in. Wrong size or something, but 3 months? Allied must do the welding themselves once the rims and rings arrive here.

Mine have been going well attached to the zook that's barely moved for two years, only one has dropped air pressure.
The same wheels were on the two cars prior and worked very well on both.

The competition beadlocks are not being imported by the Allied wheel importers at the moment.

I had the raceline beadlocks in 17 x 10 running 37's and 39.5's and had no end of trouble with deformed steel rings, and broken bolts, even L9 bolts were requiring replacement often.
We looked at alloy rings that Allied [US] were going to supply, but I went to Robby Gordon Beadlocks and L9 bolts instead when they offerred to take the rims back once they conceded that they werent successfull on 6000 # + trucks.

the steel beadlock is a bit thin, see how they go.
re the bolts, i've had to replace them as they sent bolts that were too long oh yeah and got the most of the rest rim wrong too, i had to get them machined to fit - at their expense as they were the 1st rover alloy that they had done. but stupidly on their behalf they make steelies for rovers so they had all the info on pcd's etc.

I run the Raceline Monster beadlocks on my KOH car. My understanding is that they are not released in Aus yet, but soon will be - not sure if it will be through Allied Aus, or if they are even related to Allied USA.
I think they are a great wheel, and we have put them through some serious abuse. I have bent the metal rings a couple of times, but this was when I was racing on a flat tyre
I think the alloy rings are a good upgrade, and hopefully when they are released here they will be at a good price point.
In terms of Autocraft, my buggy weighs a bit more than half yours, so yes, my use may not be comparable, but I guarantee we are putting them in some of the harshest conditions ever. Dave Cole's car is close to 6000 pounds and he seems to be using them successfully.

if they do get released over here i'm sure they will be big $, like walker evans, etc they'll be yet another product which will be 50-70% cheaper bought and delivered from across the pond, the beadlock ring has the same rolled edge on the 1st pic (aussie raceline/allied) as the yankee ones which makes you think they must be related as i haven't seen that ring on other beadlocks.

We ran up to 8000 # on ours, and long km even when checking them aften, was when they problem would show, as the bolt heads would break off when you were checking them, and on one 100km road trip, half of one ring came off as they broke.
In dealing with Allied U.S with the problem, as Performance Metals were bringing in the rims at the time, and we were going to dist in Vic, we worked with them in trying to fix the issue, but they baulked at supplying, or paying for bolts, or alloy rings at the time, and we werent going to sell them if we couldnt be 100% confident they would do the job.
They had massive inner beads and were a great rim otherwise, just the steel ring was the problem.
The ideal set up would be a inner and outer interlocking step on the alloy ring and rim, so the bolts only clamped the 2 together, not located itself as well.
We then looked at the Robby Gordon wheels, when we fitted quality bolts, and they have not given any trouble at all on afew vehicles, all of which are heavy touring orientated vehicles running big tyres.
But they were out of production for a while.....

They have a alloy beadlock coming soon in 16x8 finally someone has made a 16 inch alloy beadlock and 17x8 also.
