CLARKY'S LEGENDS OF LOWMEED 4X4 UNDER LIGHTS NEW COMP FOR CQ

Post by troyten »

Gladstone and Districts 4wd Club will be holding its first competition in there area, on a property located half way between Gladstone and Bundaberg. Clarky's Legends of Lowmeed 2010 4x4 under lights.
A man made track has been constructed on a property in Lowmeed, Clarky,s motor Head Heaven is a property used by both 4x4s and motor bikes by prior arrangement with the land owner. For this week end of competition on the 22nd of may we will be compeeting in a closed section of the property while the Gladstone Dirt riders Club run there enduro in the morning and early afternoon. The motor cross riders then become our spectators with over 800 riders and family expected to be camping the night.

This competition will be for both comp cars and those who would like to be (ie those who like to play hard with there every day 4x4s )
We will be running both classes on the same track on a non timed points system where by the further you get the more points you get. points deducted for rolling back or reversing and bunting breakages.

Sign up to be part of the fun, there will be cash and prizes and a show and shine for both compeditors and non competeing cars so even if you want to come for a look you could walk away with a prize.

fun starts around 3pm and goes till late, there is room to camp, a bar will be running and food stalls for those who can't or don't want to cook.

contact Troy Tenheggeler on email ; troyten@tpg.com.au for nom form and more info.

Directions to comp; from Gladstone or Brisbane along the bruce hwy you turn east, 500m south of the Granite creek rest area on John Clifford Way. drive 6 km then turn left into Clarky's Road. drive about 11km to the front gate follow the signs. From bundaberg you continue along the Bundaberg Lowmeed Road straight through Lowmeed onto Korean rd then first left on to clarkys road. follow the signs.

I will be there for sure! we are double nominating my cruiser so my navi can give it a thrash aswell, So who else is interested in competing?

i have seen photos of the track and been given a description on some of the obstacles and it sounds like we will all be having a ball!! With huge wombat holes, logs runs, a tyre pit and a hi lux swallowing hole near the finish line this is going to put drivers to the test!

But there is a rumour going around that 1st 2nd and 3rd will be a cruiser white wash!! so nissan drivers be scared.

I went down to the property on wed on the bike for a bit of a warm up for the ride, and I reckon the last hole is more of a cruiser trap than a hilux one ':D'

The guys have done a great job of setting up all of the obstacles and the position is perfect for all of the crowd to look on.

Last year there was well over 1000 people camped there sat night. It's a great weekend for all the family.

the property has water but is closed for the weekend to hold the enduro, the only 4x4 driving will be by compeeting cars so we keep everyone safe both riding motorbikes and spectating. we will have some bogholes in the course to give the drivers added fun, and should kook good for spectaters

The good thing about clarkys property is its HUGE so if there is enough interest after this event so many different types of events could be run down there!! winch comps/ rallycross/ gps/ more all terrain events, maybe even long runs with no winching? who knows what will grow from this first comp!

Yes sort of still remember this area from the late 80's i think!! Has it changed much? does it need clearing or working? Maybe we should have a working bee weekend and help to make it/ clear it!!! FUN DAYS AHEAD I THINK.
