Yeah, Ekky and Sven used to be great value to watch competing at LCMP. Was just going through my old pics then trying to find pics of some of Ekkys 40s. He built some sweet ones over the years.RUFF wrote:It does look a little bit like that.TWISTY wrote:Is that the one that Ekky built for his missus?shorty_f0rty wrote:found this in the carpark when I took mum out for mothers day..

Bravery isnt saving someone from a burning house. Real bravery is tempting a fart when you have diarrhea.

otherwise, bloody sweet lookin truck
First time out wheeln this arvy since we built mi truck. Put it through a bog hole and got hung up. Had to get snatched out.... The culprit was still wedged under the 40 and got pulled out with me.. After the log incident we got it out on the rocks. I'm pretty impressed at how well it preformed. Mate took a shit load of photos. So i'll post some up when i get em on disc this week.

Thanks guys,
CRAZ3D yeahhh back tyres do rub a bit but the arse end is so stiff doesnt hit all the time.... either the rear diff needs to go back or the grinder needs to come out...
DANNY BOY... shackle angle?? i though either vertical or a little inwards was fine???
yeah well i wanted to put longer rear springs and moved the diff back but then all this talk about the arse dropping and hitting my tank (cause my fuel tank is under the body behind the rear diff) stopped me from touching it...

Will ride a bit rough like that if they are out the other way anywhere up to 45 degrees will be a bit softer on the kidneys. if you have correct spring rate it will stop the rear from dropping down with longer springs. It depends what you are after flex or height. How big are your tyres?? And i love the colour...KERMIE_308 wrote: Thanks guys,

40 series
Ekky and Sven, or ekky live down the road from me in Maryborough, I think its Sven single cab hilux style side has been sitting in the front yard for years and hasn't been driven, the goodyear tyres are that old they have turned white!! I think he has sold all his shorties as I have seen most of them out on his front yard for sale over the years, his last truck was a big 60 series that went like the clappers, but not sure if he stills has that.

Loving these Aussie built 40's.
I had a real estate agent tell me he had a pink 40 once. However the 4x4xEKKY sticker on the door tells another story I think.
That green one needs some different springs. Angle would be 45 degrees outwards ideally and rear diff could move backwards as far as possible. A bit of grinder action on the rear guards and it could have articulation, massive tyres and clearance! Tyres will still rub though I reckon... Otherwise looks really good, great colour!
