I know on my hilux the relay has it's own fuses which I have blown once before.
the relay i fitted is a dual coil relay xa gt falcon type new era 5 pin i have wired it up b terminal to battery both L tags to driving lights both S terminals to the hi beam feed wire near each head lamp , it is blowing fuses i disconnecetec the power wire to battery to the relay kept blowing fuse i removed the two fuses out of the relay i fitted , now doesnt blow fuse , note when it was blowing fuses funny squawk sound under dash before it popped , was i right the way i wired it direct to headlamp high beam wire , i wired basicly same as gt falcon any help appreciate83zook wrote:Sorry just reread, I would of thought the relay would be down on the rh side of the inner guard, or up on the lh side? As previously mentioned, Toyota's use a negative switching system on the headlights. That is, there is constant power to the headlights, the switch is on the negative or earth side.
Do you have a 60 or 61/62 series? that is single 7" round or dual 6x4 rectangular lights?
