IS GQ TRANSFER CASE SAME FOR AUTO AND MANUAL.

As it says in title, need to know if auto transfer case and manual case are the same, will auto case bolt to manual g-box? if anyone could let me know it would be great.

yes providing its a 4.2 the 2.8 and 3L rb30 have different flanges and front plate that hold the seal has a lip round the seal which hits on the 4.2 box. ;)

I have a gq td42 manual and a gu tb45 auto in the shed and th transfers look different the selector is in a different spot

yep the manual shows two different selectors for the t/case, but doesnt say if its limited to the auto or manual or Gu to GQ.
I guess you just have to make sure you get the appropriate selector linkage that comes with the t/case. ( it is to do with the cotter pin going through the linkage into the t/case shift shaft itself. Some are on top and some are on bottom)

The gear box and transfer case shifter are further back in the GU.
On the GU t/c is no linkage like on the GQ t/c.
