Turbo Adapter for a 1HZ!

Post by MADDS1 »

Ordered a CT26-T25 adapter plate from Matt.McInnes, turns out I need a turbo exhaust manifold though!
After a chat with Matt and dropping my exhaust manifold in to him I have one of these on it's way.
An adapter plate from my 1HZ exhaust manifold to T25

Ill' let you know how it works out.

Hi Matt, is the t25 the same as the t3 pattern, would that work for me?

Thanks,

Answer on his behalf, T25 is not the same as T3, T25 is a bit smaller, I have bought both adapters from him, CT26-T3 and CT26-T25, quite a bit smaller the T25 when compared to T3

Ya that's what I thought, so I'd need a 3 hole 1HZ manifold to T3 adapter - do you make those Matt?

Thanks.

It can be done but it would be more expensive as it needs 2 bolts similar to these for the T3- T25 Adapter.

If this one for MADDS works you can either spend $500 on a new exhaust flange to suit a turbo or one of these for $160.

Came out pretty well, few minor modifications but on the whole should work well.

Ordered an exhaust gasket from Toyota, also picked one up from the local exhaust shop but they seem a little on the small size diameter wise, the next size up a little too large. So I'm curious to see if a factory one fits better. The O/D was taken from the 1HZ exhaust flange, if the factory one is the same then I will adjust the O/D on the Toyota side and move the T25 a few mill more to the center. This will give that little bit more meat for the M8 studs. It will also be a better fit for the gasket.

Well all seemed to fit a treat, just need mounting properly, MADDS1 may post a few pics of it installed.

As Hulsty says at Toyota turbo manifold comes with a CT26 flange so if you want to go to a Garrett you still need an adapter flange. Where as the 1HZ-T25 adapter negates the need to even remove the exhaust manifold.

After market exhaust manifolds for the 1HZ may be T25/T3 already but not sure of the costs.
