Duel Fuel Tank Setup?

Post by steve patrol »

G'day!

Done a search but I cant find what Im after...

Im about to fit a second tank to the troll, the new tank is exactly the same as the main tank thats in there now.

Is there a way I can set it up so I flick a switch in the cab and it will select which tank I want to use, OR do I have have to set up the old feed from the second tank across to the main tank?

I was thinking I could do it by putting a T-Piece with a tap on the feed line before the fuel filters, then a switch in the cab to select the tank gauge. But in doing this I would have to get out to change tanks over and Im thinking the T-Tap could get knocked or vibrate when 4x4ing getting stuck on half on or something..?? Hope this makes sense??

Is there a electronic T-Tap available? Can this be done?

Cheers heaps!

It can be done, I have a 2nd tank installed in my HJ 47 troopy that can be switched between main and auxiliary, even uses the standard fuel guage for whatever tank is selected. The system is a Pollak SV103, it uses a selector valve to choose whichever tank you want.
