May be a worthless piece of junk depending on what frequency it is set to. Could have been a trucking company communications radio, so the only ppl you may hear are other (p'ed off) truckies.

If you can't find any numbers try taking a few photo's of it, or find someone in yr area that services these.

Ok had a look just now , its got a small remote head on the dash and the big box in the boot .. on the box in the boot it says codan 8525 .

checked for power and all leads are in but won't turn on at the headset .

are these HFs worth anything if i fixed it or should i just pull it out and use it as a wheel chock

If its worth fixing anyone have any ideas where to get it done in sydney area ?

thanks

8525s are a 99 channel 100w programable set. They would be roughly 30 years old now so parts may be hard to get, if you do intend on fixing it.

If you have a use for it I would take it to a specialist comms shop in Sydney (an equivalent to Telstat in Seaford, VIC) and get their opinion on

It would depend on the options its fitted with as to what it would be currently worth. In good working order with a working antenna with VKS frequencies and RFDS frequencies, it would probably be worth around $400.
