3.9 Disco EFI wireing?

Post by RUFF »

Anyone here ever wired a 3.9 disco motor up in anything else? I need a wireing diagram to wire the efi harness up to another vehicle not a rover. Can prob work out what needs to be wired and what can be left out but if someone has done one and has some info that would be great.

The wireing diagram in my Hayes manual was good enough. I have a computer if you need one. Am running an old motec on mine.

The disco manual only had the diesel engine in it and the rangie 3.9 is a fair bit different, if you have the comp version of a disco V8 I would love a copy,

Thanks

I didn't realise the engine harness would differ that much from rover to disco. Mine was for the rover.

Just thought i would update this with some info for others wanting to do an EFI conversion on an earlier Rangie or similar.

I just fitted an early disco 3.5 EFI kit to my hilux. This is slightly different in the wireing on the 3.9 but is prob the same to wire.

I only had to hook up 3 wires to get this to run.

Brown wire- Battery +
White with a Red Trace- Ignition Sorce
White with Purple Trace to Fuel Pump +

There is also a White with a Yellow trace that is the Check engine light but i havent added this yet.

And it runs perfect.

It obviously has an earth in the harness as well but you cant miss this as its all on its own and has a bolt on eye at the end of it. And there is also a single wire near the Airflow meter that plugs onto the negative side of the coil.
