I managed to take my 05 GU for a swim over the weekend. Muddy water about 1/3 the way up the passenger side doors, when stuck in a boghole. A bit of water seeped in, say a couple of inches in the passenger footwell.
I have pulled the interior apart today, seats, carpets, console, doortrims, ect.
I was wondering how the water could have entered, as all doors are undamaged, doorseals are all in good condition, so it should not have entered as quickly as it did, within a minute or so.
What I have found is a row of 9 holes in the floor, where the front seat rear mounts are. The outer 2 bolt into brackets, bolted to the floor. The line of 7 holes, between the outer 2, are into the floor itself. Only 2 of these are used to mount the front seats, leaving 5 open holes, with no grommets, plugs, or tape over them. These holes are under a welded reinforcing piece on the underside of the floor. This piece also has drain holes in it, to allow water out, of course, it also allows water in.
This is where the water has largely entered, as is shown by the water stains on the carpet underlay. They will get plugged and taped before I reinstall the cleaned carpet. It might be worth checking if you have your carpet up.

Nice of Nissan to leave some holes for your muddy water to escape from the interior.
The 4wd lever area is another point of water entry, but at least this is up higher than the floor pan.
Speakers in the doors are also another point of water entry. Patricularly on aftermarket installations.
I have also seen rubber grommets burst out of their hole at times too. I have put cloth tape over all my grommets to hold them in place. That and plugging all the other areas in the floor pan with silicon and / bolts.

As for other leaks, yes, water did enter the sills, and the doors. Yet in spite of the tide mark, no water entered through the doors- no damage to the door trim panels, and the holes under the scuff plates are all sealed.
I have had the entire car apart, and did a good detail while I was at it. Doors and sills all flushed, I have removed the wet underlay from the carpet, and intend replacing it. The carpets will have about 2 weeks to dry out completely, before being vacuumed, and reinstalled.
I thought I had done a good job of cleaning the interior, hosed, dried, then brushed and vacuumed, until today. I saw dirty water in the front footwells again. I have discovered the rubber? heatshield on the inside firewall also have underlay beneath them, and they still hold water. So I will leave the carpets out for about 2 weeks to let this dry out, and leave the car parked undercover at work with the windows down slightly.

I had the same false oil pressure problem in my 3.0ltr. I replaced the little computer thingy in the drivers side kick panel and the light went away.
Also it is advisable not to go in water deeper the desiel injector pump as there is an electrical component on top of the pump.
