turbo'd 1HZ coolant leak from braided line into turbo - advi

Post by Thumper »

Hi,

I'm after some advice/tips/help please.

I have a 1hz with a DTS turbo.

I just got home and noticed coolant leaking under the truck.

I've traced it to a braided line, about 15mm dia, running into the top of the turbo. There's another thinner braided line running alongside it into the top of the turbo, they both run up over the engine then the large line, which i believe has the leak, then runs up towards the front of the engine and connects to a line underneath the power steering reservoir can at the front of the engine.

Is this braided line a standard item/length??? ie can i order/buy it ready to re-fit??

But also, more importantly, I'm not sure if i should be wary that something else is wrong for this line to split or is it most likely just that the tubing inside the braided line has perished???

(the turbo has been on the truck for about 10 years)

appreciate the advice. thanks

DTS are all std fit kits so you should be able to just order a new one. failing that remove it take it to pirtek or enzed and they can use your fittings to make a new one.
Here is a link for DTS distributors and phone numbers in australia.
