Post by Rangie Thing »

Hi all just became a rocky owner again f80 rv with a 3y in it and have bit of a gearbox problem.
everything works fine but wont come out of reverse without a bit of work, not sure if this is a common fault with the box.

Same here - if you have the manual locking hub version try this with engine running - select low-range neutral, release clutch pedal. Now push clutch pedal and try to shift High-range out of reverse and then shift low-range back to high/front. Have'nt the nerve to attempt a repair myself yet...

I hacve heard when you change the gearbox oil replace 100 ml with auto trans oil and this helps.

Mates telling mates so take it with a grain of salt. You never know

gave the gearbox a oil change and put in the auto trans oil about 150ml and it is working much better now, just seems to get stuck when a load is put on in gear only.
