4runner dashlights not working/dont exist?

bought a 93 V6 4runner getaway recently and wondering if some of the lights in the dash are not working (blown globe) or just dont exist. all the lights in the dash are working fine except that the symbols for selecting the vent options and the fan settings etc arn't. hope im not confusing people, im referring to the symbols that show which vent is being used, heat/cool setting symbols and the fan setting symbols.

Would be great if someone could let me know if you have one of these cars and if yours do/dont light up.

Yes they are supposed to light up, it will probably be a blown bulb behind the facia panel. I think that panel levers off fairly easily once you have removed the little plastic knobs from the levers.

There is a globe behind the vent control pannel, to gain access remove the ends of the controls & with a small flat blade screw driver gently prize one end of the vent control pannel off, there is a small globe in there, hope this is of some help.

my mates old 4 runner used to do this, but if we hit the dash just above the controls they would turn on again. either old damaged wires or blown globe for sure.
