I just bought new 4way return to center steering dumper for my GU. I'm having trouble with fitting. I can not use existing mounts (dumper is too big) I have fiited it the other way around according to one picture I could find in Australian 4WD but the vibrations are bigger then before. Not sure what is wrong. Can anyone help? Detailed pictures would be great.Thanks

I have one (the one with the white coil-over) on my GU ute and mounting from the factory bracket on the tie rod meant that I needed to flip the "L-bracket" around when mounting to the panhard bar.
To get it to fit you will probably need to undo the allen key bracket that mounts the spring to the dampener and slide it as close to the end as possible. The other option if you've got a steadier hand than me is to use a dremel or cutting disk on a grinder and remove the factory bracket - you would then use the L brackets and u-bolts at both ends.
When it stops raining I'll go out and get some photos for you.

Hi, thx for reply. Yes it is the one with white coil-over. There are two sizes, small one which should fit on the existing brackets and HD one which is a lot bigger. I bought the HD. I already talk to guys from 4way suspension and Nick Mannell and they think there has to be some other problem. I posting pics how I fitted it and I will probably try your way as well.
It was raining for most of the arvo so didn't get a chance to take those snaps but from your photos, I'm completely the other way around. I've used the factory mount on the tie rod and reversed the bracket on the panhard bar end. From memory it just cleared the kink in the adjustable panhard bar and I'm going to pull it off one of these weekends and try to shorten a little bit further.

I've still got that flimsy plastic guard on so the photos aren't great but hopefully they'll give you an idea of what I've done. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I still intend on pulling it off one of these weekends and moving the bracket that locates the coil-over to the shock a little further towards the end of the shock to make the whole unit a little bit shorter.
Let me know if you want any further photos or info.

No - photos are just on weird angles.
The goldy coloured bar is the aftermarket adjustable panhard bar. I used the L bracket and u-bolts supplied to connect to this just above the kink in the bar where it attaches to the diff.
The photo named GU RTC Steering Dampener 1 shows the setup from the drivers side. I removed the L braket and used the factory bracket on the tie rod.
I think I have it mounted reverse to you but it shouldn't matter - I got no instructions with mine so am happy to be corrected on this. The photos named GU RTC . . . 2 shows that I still have around 40-50mm that I can move the bracket that mounts the coil to the shock. The phot is deceptive in that it looks like the end of the dampener is right near the control arm bracket. There is heaps of clearance and the suspension can move through it's whole articulation cycle without contact anywhere.

from your pictures I can not see the bracket and that is why I asked if you cut it off. I'm posting another pictures with my old dumper back on again and you can see the bracket on panhard rod, it is just past the kink. If I fit the dumper your way, I don't think I can clear the panhard rod bracket.

Looks like the aftermarket panhard bar makes all the difference as I don't have to contend with both brackets, just the factory one on the tie rod.
From the last photo looks like you've got some reasonable lift . . .maybe time to consider replacing the panhard bars with adjustables anyway
