What can i use from a 4runner in a hilux ln106 dual cab

Post by davenmarcia »

Hi all just after a bit of advise on what can i use from a 1990 4runner i bought it from a salvage auction for the denco turbo and snorkel so will swap them over. But i am wondering what else will fit in or on the 1991 ln106 dual cab.

Thanks

Rear diff centre.

Rear housing and axles are wider then yours so cant be used.

Does it have a coil rear end?

Because you could cut the chassy in half and sell the rear cut for some one to do a coil conversion?

Sell the whole complete front IFS stuff (if it is) to some one as spares which is the easier way to get rid of it but make some cash back.

Just a couple of things

thanks guys
i wasn't sure about the rear diff fitting. i may even be tempted to do the coil conversion.
my main reason i got it was for the turbo and snorkel. but now i have a 2nd driveline to have as a spare. I also discovered its got a longrange tank so hope it swaps over i have read that surf tanks can go in to a hilux but not the other way around.

thanks

The surf tank is smaller length ways, so with one bracket fabbed up (adaptor) it should fit. (from memory)

When i did that coil conversion, i wanted to used the surf tank in there but i shortened my wheel base a little so it did not fit easily. But i put a bigger one in there under the tray so i did not worry bout the factory one

yep banks turbo all working fine i am lucky and its got a 3l in it and gear box transfer is all the some so i have spares.
No power windows unfortunately but will keep the glass from the front doors as i mow lawns for a living and have smashed one before and it set me back $380.
Unfortunately the interior is blue and mines grey so that doesn't swap.
Biggest decision now is do i rebuild the engine then swap all over (4runner has 257000 klm and hilux is 375000klm) and keep the hilux one as a spare or just swap it to the hilux and wait until it dies.

I think i will sell off the coil rear etc and ifs gear as i don't think i will get around to or even need hi steer and coil rear end.

thanks
