100 series p/s pump

Post by Willy Hilux »

Guys, My Power steer pump in my 1FZ 100 series is starting to make some noises like it is bypassing. There is no leaks and the oil is full. Don't know how old the oil is. The oil looks a little brown in colour, not like red ATF.

Is my pump on its way out???

my 100 had some noise and started leaking after a while, when it leaks it needs fixing?
Got a shaft and seal kit for about 80 bucks, did it myself after many drinks in about 2-3 hours, u need a puller to get it apart, and a memory to put it back together. done 10k since then.. perfect.

I'd start with a fluid change first. It shouldn't be brown.
