I hate how the pics make it look smaller. It must have been a bit daunting to go down it for the first time.Rhett wrote:for the picys Micheal.
Although it always looks smaller and not as steep in pics.
Il be sneaking down in the future with a select few to get a few more picys heading further up the creek, its just that it was getting late on sunday that we didn't keep going.
PS-Brendan Id like MY rock face to be named ranga's rock.
Cheers Rhett
When I was walking through there I noticed the logs very close to the drop off........ or was it just bad driving.The_apprentice wrote:That Kids is what ya call a FULL "COMP STATUS" ENDO by dave and myself and we executed it perfectly.![]()
Custard out.
HI Brett & MitchRolly wrote:Now this has just gone too far! Brenden has opened this park, given us somewhere to drive, and events to compete in. He is constantly learning, progressing and improving in each of these aspects. He has been ever so helpful and approachable whenever we have proposed ideas or issues, and learns from our feedback. But then to cop something like this, surely is going to make him wonder why he is bothering!
Firstly Geoff, you too mate need to have a reality check! Does it ever make you wonder why your vehicle does stand up on the front, when no-one else has any issues? It is pretty obvious to everyone that YES, the mog is front heavy. The area in which your vehicle rolled, did not arise any concern for any other competitor in the field. When setting up the tracks, no-one would have considered the track to be of any safety issue. It was not a high-risk roll over point by any means! So it definately wasn't a lack of care from Brenden's part.
In all seriousness, it was probably lucky for the competition that you didn't make it to the creek... The fact that you did not bother to go assess the creek, after being warned before the event, shows a lack of concern for your own safety anyways. If you had of made it to the creek, we probably would have had a repeat of TT09 where the mog would have deemed the track impassable. If you think that drop was bad, you should have seen some of the ledges that followed!!!
Also, why go running your mouth about Brenden's safety issues with tracks up the top of hills, when you are behind TT. Heartbreak Ridge and Jaw Breaker pose greater risks and higher chances of roll over, and they are also up in the hills.
I understand that you are upset about damaging your vehicle, and having a scare, but these sort of public sprayings don't do any good to the sport. I am not one to direct my opinions towards individuals, but this is just too far. You might have already done enough damage, to ruin what is our favourite place to go wheeling, and compete in some fun events. I hope your little rant has helped you ease any embarrassment. But seriously mate, if you can't hack the pace, don't come race.
Regards Brett & Mitch

At SRAP when a single car signs in we suggest they try to tag along with someone else and only travel tracks suitable for their car so hopefully if your situation did occur you would have someone on hand immediately.
totally nothing to do with the question i asked..social wheeling is not competition wheeling
Any extreme 4x4 event when man pushes his car to its limits the participants must be personally prepared for the unexpected and danger risks.
not true..as the organiser of the event it is your duty to ensure that every safety precaution has been taken to limit the chance of anything untoward happening..this is what risk assessments are done for..yes the competitor needs to be prepared for it however the organiser must also be prepared for the worst scenarios to occur
Some competitors may not have realised SRAP started the day with three recovery cars plus five or seven guys from the Logan 4x4 Club and three other experienced 4x4 drivers who had all offered to assist with recoveries if required during the King of the Rim.
I believe the lack of this knowledge with some competitors has raised some of these safety concerns and comments.
In future we will ask these volunteers to wear special SRAP vests during events.
my concern was not with having them there, my concern was with the response time taken..if i wanted to wheel in the middle of the bush knowing full well that help is a minimum 20 minutes away then that is at my own risk...if i am competing in an event which as part of the course sends me on that route then that is not at my risk, that is a path set by the organisers
All comp cars are required to have fire extinguishers on board
We had a number of SES recovery trucks ready for emergency situations on hand throughout the day and the Beaudesert hospital is located ten minutes drive from the park.
yes i carry a fire extinguisher, but if i am injured and unable to put the fire out then who is going to help me, Beaudesert Hospital ten minutes drive away wont be able to do much
Scenic Rim Adventure park management are more than happy to discuss any safety or other concerns people have regarding the park.
i have no safety concerns with the park...i do however have some safety concerns with the running of the event hence my question
There is a large section of the public that would like to see all 4x4 cars band and I believe any negative comment listed on an open public forum like this one without an accompanying positive suggested solution is just fuelling their fire to ban 4x4’s not only in the bush but also on our road systems. So please continue your entertaining comments on these types of forums but also be mindful and try to keep it non personal and positive.
Wendy
i would be one of the last people who would want the 4wd scene shut down...indeed i make my livelihood out of it
as far as i am concerned any questions or concerns about safety are not negative comments..i only have one life and i intend on getting as much out of it as i can
