OH MY GOD ... I'm in LOVE ! !

Post by Ezookiel »

Took delivery today of my 2010 MN GLX-R Triton 4x4 Dual Cab.
MMCS and High-Line canopy.

And I am over the moon. I think I'm going to lose my licence though. This thing is so effortless that you look down and find yourself doing 100km/h all the time, and that's even in the 60 zones. I'm really going to have to watch myself, or RN's mates will have me broke faster than the repayments on the vehicle.

Would love a few more tie-down points inside the tub, and the canopy looks like an afterthought, as it hangs outside the tub, and you'd expect the manufacturer's own canopy to look more like an integral part of the vehicle, not so much like an add-on.

Pity the stupid iPhone can't download it's phonelist into the MMCS unit the way most REAL phones can. Yet another reason I hate my iPhone. But I love the rest of the MMCS so far, and am a Triton convert to the max.

Barely owned it 24 hours and already found a problem -
The interior light has the usual "off" - "auto" - "on" settings.
In the "auto" it is SUPPOSED to slowly fade to off after you shut the doors. Mine doesn't. It stays on ! !
If I hadn't noticed, I'd have flattened the battery the first night

Dealer is getting the techies to have a look at it - their computer system can apparently change the length of time of the fade out, so they are hoping that it has just somehow been set to NO fade out, but the Dealer doesn't actually know for sure.

Hows The Take Off

Post by wylie5 »

Hi Lookie,
Now that you have had your new truck for a few day now ,It sound like it gose like the clappers, Quick question,
How dose it go when you take off the mark, or dose it bog down with no power, Or do you have to wait until the rpms catch up, or can you just let the clutch out and go.

What do you think of the bigger tub now, Or is it to big, or would you prefer the smaller ML tub

Cheers Wheelybin.

I bought the manual transmission, so it's quick enough off the lights for me, and hit 2nd and she really scoots. Makes my Patrol looks really sluggish.
I have purchased a chip for it as well, but won't consider putting it in until well down the track, or at least until after the 1500km service, and definitely not until the engine is run in a little more.

I like the longer tub, there's a good deal of room in there, but I haven't had it off road yet (waiting till the lift and the better tyres), but once those are done, I'll probably still find the huge tub a pain as it's bound to hit on everything. I'll have to wait and see.

I put the seat risers in it today, and I'd THOUGHT that the seats were ok already, but the difference was huge. If you buy one, you will definitely want to get the seat risers they lift the front of the seat up under the calves.

So far I love that car. I just hope Mitsi fix my faulty interior light soon, it's the only downer on the whole thing, and at the moment it sounds like such a little thing, but it is really taking the gloss off the car, everytime I walk out to it in the dark, and get reminded that the interior light has to be left off, or it shorts and turns it on when it shouldn't.
