304 auto conversion

Post by 75 cruser »

im currently running a fuel injected commodore motor in my hj 75 series landcruiser with a manual behind it with a marks addapter etc, im in the process of putting a auto behind the v8 with a marks addapter with the 75 transfere case

ok so the question is am i able to run the auto with the current speed sensor and manual computer, or do i have to change the computer to a auto computer with a new speed sensor ??? by the way the auto is a turbo 700

thanks rob

With the TH700R4 the transmission is hydralically controlled, just the lock up convertor is controlled by the computer, the only thing to make sure off is the cable setup is correct if it is not it will drive like sh*t and will burn up the box,you can setup your own switch for the tcc to work also if you want.

the v8 turbo 700 behind the early vn/vp commodore where hydrolic with basic electrics for torque converter and speedo, the later commodore v8 boxes where full electronic. castlemain rod shop do bit and pieces for setting the early box up into applications such as yours(speedo adaptors, kick down cable etc)
