pinion gear
pinion gear
hey guys. does anyone know where i can get a standard pinion gear?
Re: pinion gear
Are you making a gearshift knob?
Ring and pinion gears need to be kept together or you'll never get an acceptable pattern IMHO. You'll need a matching ring and pinion or a whole diff third member.
In any case, standard for what? 3.7 3.9 4.1 4.3 4.6 4.8 or 5.12:1 are all "standard" 5.83 would be the only "non standard" ratio I can think of.
Suziworld in West Heidelberg should be able to help.
Steve.

Re: pinion gear
To add to what steve just said.
Why do you need to replace it? If it is damaged I would just about bet anything the ring is damaged.

Re: pinion gear

Re: pinion gear
HAHAHAHA as steve said there are a about 4 different standard ratio.
Mabey if you tell us what year and some more info about your sierra we could help you. Or if you take a second to look through the bible you wouldn't of had to make this post at all???
Just a thought...

Re: pinion gear
Your 1991 from previous posts, If the car is stock and has not been played with, it should have 3.7 gear ratios. Get a new set. Don't mix and match
