Suzuki ute pics
Re: Suzuki ute pics
I think you may have a few issues with your steering box .. I know liquid nails seemed like a good idea at the time .. I have been tempted to use it myself But sometimes you really need to use high tensile bolts

Re: Suzuki ute pics
Its had the rear 300mm or so cut off the chassis which might make it look like the axle has been moved back.

Re: Suzuki ute pics
Spike - that axle has been moved back, but it's all been done with the springs. See how much of the spring is visible in front of the rear wheels? On a stock sierra an equal amount of spring will be visible fore and aft of the tyre.
I'm not convinced the chassis has been cut but I could be wrong.

Re: Suzuki ute pics
your right steve. the rear was moved back using mazda springs with a custom top leaf. i believe the chassis had a minimal amount trimmed off. and yes the tray has had about a foot taken off.Gwagensteve wrote:Spike - that axle has been moved back, but it's all been done with the springs. Yeah Steve, had another look at it and you are right. I think i am getting confused with the LWB tub chassis and the LWB ute chassi regarding the chop.
I like the look of it, I personally wouldnt have shortened the tray as it looks a little stumpy IMO. I love everthing else though. I am not a fan of flat trays without sides, it just seems to defeat the purpose, as it just means you have to tie everything down.

Re: Suzuki ute pics
I agree that tray looks a bit short. It could have been a plank longer (6") without hurting capability and it would have made the car look more balanced.

Re: Suzuki ute pics
Love the custom shackle reversal, think you went a bit overboard on the front towers though and approach angle has suffered as a result.bakerboy wrote:

possibly GRPABT1, but its our first build, steep learning curve, and as its still SPUA we can go SPOA and halve the "fangs" if need be not totally stoopid
