Bent panhard rod

Post by jimny_99 »

Hey guys i managed to bend my panhard rod on my 99 jimny. Got a new one to fit, but it seems that when the rod bent that it has moved the mounting point. the one on the body still looks straight however the one on the axle looks like it has moved a little. Is the a way i can fix this so that the rod can be fitted. or is it more serious?

cheers
some pics to help

this mounting point has moved. twisted towards the ground, which means the other end of the rod wont line up with its mounting point properly

thats the old bent one

It should still line up.
You will have to use a lever to move body over.

With the bracket put a jack under it and run a 20mm weld bead on either side.

i used a pipe wrench to give it a little twist so that it would line up... seems to have worked fine.... time will tell
