Hey Guys,
Have been to the injection mob today and getting injectors recond tomorrow i noticed a few guys are mentioning about different specs on the turbo model injectors but when i asked the guy at the shop about them he said the turbo injector and specs are the same as the standard td42 injector they dont change a thing. if anyone knows if there is actually any difference or why some places ask if its turboed would be great to hear thanks .
i also had a bit of dirt drop into the holes the injector fell from i cleaned the top before puling them out put when i took the washers out i moticed some had dirt in them would this be enough to damge inside the engine or would it blow out the exhaust? i will make sure inside the holes are clean before fitting new injectors which will but a little more dirt inside. isnt much just a few specs in each hole.
Cheers
Luke

td42 injectors exchange
Re: td42 injectors exchange
Early td42t injectors are the same as td42 injectors. Late ones had different nozzles fitted. All are set at the same opening pressure. We tend to set them a little higher if an aftermarket turbo is fitted. Blow the dirt out with an air blower.

Re: td42 injectors exchange
hey andy,
yeah i got pretty much all the dirt out have got the new injectors fitted will see how they go on the weekend, the shop here said they do them to 98bar but they got abit higher to 105 bar i asked them to give me 115 bar which they said wont hurt the car and they cant see what having higher pressure would do too much anyways.
thanks

Re: td42 injectors exchange
higher crack presure gives better attomisation which gives a better burn.. no need to go too much higher and eventually injector springs will break.. also need to slightly advance the pump timing as it will take longer to build up the pressure. pretty much no point in any of it though without the 12mm plunger mod to the pump as it will not flow enough fuel to increase the hp anyway..
