converting a factory rear locker to air locker

Post by reedy14 »

Hi, got a factory locker spare diff at home and want a reliable rear locker. I have heard of a few people that have converted the vacume operation of the locker to air lockers. cost approx 200 for 2 solinoids and vented body for the solinoids.

Was wondering if anyone has done something similar and has more details about it?? Where to get parts from ect.. I do not have blokes number but have seen his set up before. Any help would be awesome....

I haven't heard of converting to air, I imagine using the vac actuator with compressed air would be hard to regulate and you would end up blowing it out, search in the bible there is tech on using after market solanoids in the vac setup, I used a mag dual solanoid housing on mine with vac reliably, far quicker than factory, parr number and set up is in the threads in the bible, make sure you weld a fram around the actuator as they are very prone to damage
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!
