RA 4x4?

Post by cliffman64 »

Hey y'all!
I'm buying an 06 RA 4X4 diesel and wondering how they go as a 4B?
It won't be for anything full on, just so rough camping and a little lite play?

How do they go? Are they any good or should I stay out of the bush?

Any feed back would be greatly apppreciated

Thanks

I have got an 06 RA diesel 4x4. For me and the family it makes a great tourer and is great in the sand, but if you start to get into fairly rough stuff compared to a hilux you will be short on ground clearance. I end up draging the rear end on everything.
Day to day it is easy to live with and is mainly driven by the wife and she really likes it. If you want a rockhopper go looking at other cars becouse the rodeo is the wrong car for that.

Boy:Is this seat empty?
Girl:Yes,and this one will be if you sit down.

Boy:Haven't I seen you some place before?
Girl:Yes.That's why I don't go there anymore.

Up until recently I used a 04 ra td as a tourer. Lifted and rear locked. Done cape, fraser, vic hi country, simpson desert plus numerous short trips all towing a camper. Up graded to a v8 100 series and apart from more cabin room, I dont think I'm any better off.
Those who choose to drive in the mud do so because they can't drive the rocks.

I have an MN Triton, and my Mate has an RA Rodeo.
His goes everywhere we want to get to. His has a minor lift and some barwork, and it aint no monster truck, but pretty sure it would do most things anyone would want to do with a 4by.
Add some good rubber and ideally eventually some lockers, and they'd be good for just about anything you seem to have in mind and then some.
