VG30dett into a Patrol

Post by B.D.R »

G'day all

Has any one put a VG30dett into a Patrol?

Apparantly the Gearbox's are the same as the RB30, so i'm going to assume it's a relativly easy conversion, if the Patrol has an RB30 init all ready :D

This is just somthing i thought up Tonight, but i'd like some opinions about it before i get to carried away

From what I'm awear is that the vg30-35 from 300zx / 350zx autos are the same bolt pattern bell houseing to gear box, but will need the input shaft changed to take the patrol torque converter or just a space plate / addaptor from origonal flex plate to patrol torque converter.

The biggest VG series motor is the VG33E used in the R50 Pathfinder and D22 Navara.

You could use the front half of a VG33E Navara gearbox and the rear of a RB30S gearbox.

Dave.
2006 STR Navara with lots of goodies, just need a V6 front diff and a locker.

I'd go for a VQ over a VG. A turbo'd VQ35HR would be nice. Pretty sure they use the same basic gearbox as the RB30/ RD28 (FS5R30 gearbox)
