Re: 1hz pyro temps
where did he put the thermocouple? denco kits usually have a fitting in the dump pipe, and they specify 500c absolute max egt after at least 2 minutes at full throttle. there is aparently something wrong. be very gentle on the throttle untill you get it sorted out. will be interested to hear the outcome.
Re: 1hz pyro temps
the pyro is reading from the dump pipe.

Re: 1hz pyro temps
It is in deg C isnt it? Thats some mighty high readings there. Has the fuel been played with?

Re: 1hz pyro temps
Mine is 2"post turbo on the dump pipe and it maxes out at 550 degrees in fifth gear climbing hills. I'd be worried if mine was getting hotter then that. Sounds like he's running to much fuel.

Re: 1hz pyro temps
When you buy a pyro gauge kit, the wiring is tuned to length. If hes's cut it between the thermo transducer and the gauge it will read way out.

hands and mums dont count!!!
Re: 1hz pyro temps
temps ranging from 210 to 270 deg c is almost as silly as 680 deg c there is something wrong with the gauge or you are only getting part of the power that should be available. or are you just maintaining 100kph under ideal conditions?
Re: 1hz pyro temps
whats the temp underload ie; 3rd up the ranges towing all the gear ?TheBigBoy wrote:Thats crazy. My 1hdt varies from 210 (not underload) to 270 at 100kph.
dont mean to flog the thread but has anybody
had trouble with the cheapish egt guages on feebay ?
cheers Aaron.
