3f carby conversion
hi, ive got a 70 series short cruiser, its running a bit rich so i put a carby kit through the stock webber, this made no difference, i think i wanna put a holley carby on it, has anyone ever put a holley on a cruiser, do they go heaps better than a webber, or as good as a carby can get?

Re: 3f carby conversion
Stock carby is a Asin, i've heard other larger carbies go better onroad, but not much beats the stocker off road.

Re: 3f carby conversion
There is writing on it somewhere saying what model it is. Could be in the last couple of digits of the serial number I think on my old weber it was on the side of the baseplate. Is it running really rich or just a little bit at say full throttle or idle etc?pedr wrote:not sure what model, how do you tell,

Re: 3f carby conversion
ive run both 350 and 500 helleys on my 2F basicly the same engine
they worked well i went up to the 500 2 barrel for better flow on lpg
but they both SUCK when over 25+ degrees off road on petrol they either flood or starve for fuel...
this is why im going powerJection III on my new motor

Re: 3f carby conversion
yep its the stock asin,
its just running rich all the time,
i think the flap thats only supposed to open up when you have your foot to the floor, is always open just a little. when we pulled it apart to do the carby kit, you could see it wouldnt fully return to its closed position

Re: 3f carby conversion
that secondary should be closed if you cant adjust the throat via a screw or by gentle bending of the link arm ..another method is to just crack the screws loose on the plate and hold it closed this should realign it and seal then re tightenpedr wrote:yep its the stock asin,

the plates can move and sit uneven/offset on the bore so they wont close

Re: 3f carby conversion
Sure its not your choke stuck on? Aisin carbs are good at jamming the choke on. If your throttle was open all the time it'd be running fast all the time as it controls the fuel and air flow.
